No system restore points
Using XP Professional, Service Pack 3. I am testing to see if I have "restore points" in the System Restore. Lost them when I had a problem with IE... re-installed IE and problem was solved. Upgraded IE and now don't have any "restore points" again. What's going on? Help.

What is your system make and model?Describe your current antivirus and anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc. When you choose System Restore from the System Tools menu do you see an empty white box where the SR calendar should be, or do you see the SR calendar okay but there are no RPs available? If in your previous troubleshooting, if SR was ever disabled and then enabled again, that process will delete all the old RPs you have leaving a SR calendar with no RPS listed (that is the way it works).Have you ever used any third party applications on your system where the product description includes such descriptive phrases as:cleaner, mechanic, detective, cure, optimize, clean up, tune up, speed up, fix up, compact, compress, faster, power, boost, booster, guaranteed. Are you able to manually create a new RP and then does it then show up in the calendar? No matter what you are using for malware software, please do this:Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://malwarebytes.org/SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if desired. When the scans run clean, then troubleshoot any remaining issues.Don't guess what the problem might be - figure it out and fix it. I need YOUR votes and points for helpful replies and Propose as Answers. I am saving up for a pony!
