No standard modem installed and not able to install it.
Hi, this is Rafael from the dominican republic, i'd like to know what to do to install a 'standard modem' so that i can use my Blackberry smartphone as a modem with my laptop.Itook the necesary steps to have a stardard modem installed (without a disk), but before finishing the installation, windows asks me to choose a port for the modem, but it gives me no choice, the window where the ports are supposed to appear is blank. From that point on, all i can do is cancel :(. I really need to be able to use my smartphone as modem, as i was able to do it with windows vista. So any help on this onewill be deeply appreciated. Thanks, rafael

Hi donny71, I don't have te websites now, butwindows has the drivers, i solved my problem by doing a clean installation of windows 7. When you ask windows to install a new modem it gives you a list of standard modem drivers. After i did the clean install, and installed the blackberry manager, the standard modem i needed just showed up. So i only had to re-configure it.rm
