No open file or save file dialogs appear in any application
I have no issues with my OS in general, however, I cannot get *any* open-file or save-file dialogs to show in any application. No errors are thrown; the border of the active applications simply flashes, as if it loast focus and immediately regained focus. Any clues what might be causing this?

I'm not sure where to begin speculating about the cause, but my suggestion would be to use System Restore to return to a time before the issue began. If that doesn't apply or didn't work, try running an elevated command prompt (type cmd into the Start menu, then press Ctrl-Shift-Enter all at once). In the command prompt, type sfc /scannow to check your system files. If this was helpful, please vote by clicking the green triangle. If it solves the issue, click Propose as Answer. Thanks!

Please download Dependency Walker (http://www.dependencywalker.com/), run it and open any exe which doesn't display the dialogs. Now press F7 to start the profiling. Do you get any error messages when you try to open the dialogs? regards André"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

I wish I'd waited a bit longer, because I've would have been extremely curious so see what dependency walker would have turned up. SFC /scannow returned no errors, and a system restore did not fix the problem. I ended up simply re-installing my OS from scratch, and after loading almost every previous program back on have not see the odd behavior. Thank you very much for the help!
