No ip address
I have installed Vista and cannot get an IP address from my router. I have tried to let Vista repair my connection and have tried to set up both the private and public networks. When you run the Connect to Internet wizard it gives you an option to log into a PPoE account but I don't require this to connect to the internet.

Have you gone into the network center and seen if your router is being seen by Vista? If not then you won't get an IP assigened to it, also make sure you have the latest update for the Router Bios. Glenn

Hello, does your router support IPV6? my computer obtained a dynamic IP address after unchecking "Internet Protocol Version 6(TCP/IPv6) in the Local Area Connection properties. Running ipconfig /all I noticed "IPv6 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 3ffe:831f:4136:e37a:1cb1:8998:ae0e:d6d7(Preferred)" while there was no IPv4 address. Now ipconfig /all reports IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 10.2.30.17(Preferred). Greatings.
