Since a week my PC with Windows 7 (64-bit) gets no internet connection after booting. The system tray shows the yellow triangle to warn me that I have no internet. Other devices that are connected through the same ADSL router (among which a laptop with Windows Vista) can connect fine. My PC has LAN connection and can connect to and see other machines on the LAN. It cannot access any addresses on the internet, neither by URL nor by IP address. It cannot even ping my ISP's DNS server by IP address. I tried "ipconfig /renew", "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /flushdns", but none of those helps. Rebooting the PC also does not help. However, when I reboot my router the PC does get internet connection. But I refuse to believe it is a router problem, since other devices work perfectly with it and nothing has been changed in its configuration. The problems started about a week ago and in my update log I see a large number of Windows updates have been installed then. So I suspect one of those may affect my connectivity. Does anyone know where I should find the cause for my internet troubles. Are there any diagnostics actions I should do?

If you suspect the problem could have been due to windows update, suggest you to temp uninstall updates by going to ctrl panel>programs>programs & features, next click on view install updates and uninstall from there and see how it goes. If after the above attempt and still no go, do a repair of windows 7
