No internet access after sleep mode or switching between wired and wireless.
I recently bought a new laptop and it seams to be having a problem with sleep mode. Ive read around on this forum and others and it appears that many people have had this issue over the past few years..but was unable to find a solution other then setting up a static IP address, so I have come here to find out if there is any other workarounds or permanent solution that does not require me to restart my computer every time the issue occurs. Build: CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M (with Optimus and Intel(R) HD Graphics) RAM: 8.0 GB Network Adapter: Killer Wireless-N1103 OS: Windows 7 64bit There are no virus protection programs installed on this system at this time. Here is the basic issue, when the system triggers sleep mode and then later woken up the signal of my router is still full but has the "No Internet access" label. The same issue occures when unplugging from a wired connection and turning back on the wi-fi, the router is seen with full connection but there is "No Internet access" To fix this issue i usually have to restart the system from square one, sometimes more than once. A few things that I have tried from sujestions on this forum and others. 1. Restart network adapter. No change. 2. Update network adapter drivers. No change 3. Fresh install network adapter drivers. No change 4. Looked for "Bonjour" in Services (to kill). No such Service on my system at this time as I do not have any apple programs installed on this system yet. 5. Changed Network Adapter's Power Management settings to NOT allow the computer to turn off the device to save power. (theory that returning to sleep mode would was not triggering the adapter to return to normal) No Change 6. Checked for updates for Windows 7. Everything was already installed and running. Are there any fixes to this problem out there that I overlooked?

have you checked your router settings? there's some settings like auto disconnect interent if not linked for 2 minutes. actually i got this problem too but i just open a browser to connect and then it will connected automacticaly, i can access the internet even though it shows up a '!' no internet access. Also reconnect current linked adapter can be useful.

Abd Elhamid,I have checked the requested link and both the BIOS and the driver for the network adapter are up to date.I'm assuming, according to the post, this means Microsoft has no solution to this problem after almost 3 years? FlankerDouble checked router, all settings are correct. Auto shut down after inactivity is already off. Also as stated in my first post restarting (or reconnecting) the network adapter does not correct the issue. Also opening any of my browsers (Firefox and Internet Explorer) does not force it to have Internet access.Update: I've got it working no problems with a static IP set up. But this can be rather frustrating because I have to redo the static IP (or switch back "attain an IP address automatically")every time that I switch to a different Wifi connections away from my home.

I am having the same problem. I've been researching this for hours, and I still cannot find a solution. I disabled the power management option, updated drivers, restart adaptor, etc. NOTHING WORKS. Windows can detect the wireless card and ethernet, and those work just fine. The problem is that no matter what hardware we're talking about, NOTHING CONNECTS AT ALL. It's connected to the network but not the internet. So frustrating.
