No delete in right click menu (from search results).
Here's a weird one.
So take a Windows 7 machine, and create a folder on the C: drive. Make three files in this folder called:
test cert.txt
test cert.html
test cert.eml
Now go to the "Search All" box in the upper right corner of Windows Explorer and type "cert". This will display the three files you just created as search results. Right click on the .html file or the .txt file and you will see an option
to delete these files; however, if you right click on the .eml file you do not get an option to delete. Also nothing happens when you highlight the file and press delete on the keyboard.
If you are NOT in the search results view, you can right click and delete the .eml file. If you are using a Windows XP machine and run a search (of the same folder on the Windows 7 machine even) you can right click and delete the .eml file.
I can replicate this issue on multiple Windows 7 machines, so I think it is by design. What I want to know is why, and is there anything I can do to change it?

Long thread on the issue here.

What seems to work, and i tested it
Delete the registry entry for .eml
Run Regedit and goto
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PropertySystem\PropertyHandlers
Select the .eml and choose export to save a backup of the .reg file just in case you want to revert back.
Then Select the .eml entry and right click and delete.
Restart the computer and test. I was able to delete eml files in a search
