No access to homegroup on a domain joined PC
Hi, I have a few computers on a home group. However on my work notebook I can join the homegroup but can't access any resources. Anything I can do? Thanks, Thomas Pagel

Hi Thomas, I would like to verify what error message is received. It seems you don’t enable Network Discovery. Please following steps to enable: Click Start->Control Panel->Network and Sharing Center, click Change advanced sharing settings. Enable the option. If the issue persists, try to ping other pc and check the result. Also try to entering \\ipaddress or \\computername in the Search Box to see if it works properly. Please refer to following article to configure settings. Settings to Allow Computers that are Members of a Domain to Join a Homegroup http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee617166(WS.10).aspx Hope it helps. I have a similar problem. My domain joined computer can see, but not access, computers on the homegroup. Other computers in the homegroup can successfully see each other and share files. I realize this domain joined machine should not be 'seen' by other machine's on homegroup, but it's my understanding that it should be able to access folders/files on the non-domain joined machines. Here are greater details. First I added the domain-joined computer to the homegroup (via network and sharing center). Now from the domain-joined computer, in windows explorer, I can see the Homegroup listed, as well as the specific computer on the homegroup that I would like to access. I can even see the homegroup shared folders on the computer that I would like to access, but when I click on them (from my domain joined computer), I am prompted with a popup to enter my network password. Nothing I've tried here has worked successfully. Of course by default the security box wants to use my domain user, which is not valid on the machine I am connecting to (it is not part of any domain). I have tried entering a slash to remove the domain (i.e. '\'), then the target computers user name, followed by password, but this does not work either. No matter what I try here, invariably, I receive the following error 'The specified network password is not correct.' Rebooting has not solved the issue. Please help?!
