I am trying to install Adobe Reader 8, it unpacks it's self to a temp folder, then when I click 'run' to start the install I get the message 'You do not have access permissions to the Temp folder or the destination is full' is there any way around this? I have changed the 'Read Only' option on the folder and taken ownership but this seems to have no effect. Thanks in advance for any help anybody can provide.

are you an admin on the computer, does adobe ask you for premission on install ? what the config of your computer ? Is this a UPgrade ?

All it does is asks you every mouse click you make, are you sure you wanna do this? I would not have clicked the button if I didnt? And I would not be an ADMIN if I didnt know what clicking the mouse would do? That is not security, it is DUMBNESS..........

PLEASE HELP i have had this same trouble trying to install Adobe Reader 8.0 with Vista OS. I attempted to download it and it failed with the messageabout not being able to access theTemp folder. I received the info to turn on UAC and managed to get it to download but it again failed becauseAnother instance of this program is already running. You cannot run multiple instances at the same time. BUT I have no idea how to get rid of the previous program that only partly downloaded. I now can't download the Reader even with UAC turned on becasue it thinks I already have the program loaded but I don't know where its loaded to or how to get rid of it. I have tried to uninstall it in Control Panel - it gives me the option of uninstall/change but when i click this button, nothing happens. How can i get rid of the previously unsuccessful install so that i can now install it properly? Can anyone help? Lisa

Best thing to do is a system restore.that should help.

find the files and delete them manually and that should help and you should be able to reinstall the program.
