It has been having some problems lately with Outlook Express and Internet Explorer and I am wondering if I were to purchase a XP disk would I be able to use it on this computer or will I run into problems doing so since it is not the actual one that was used originally.I have had this computer for about 2 years and only now running into the above problems.Thanks1 person needs an answerI do too

You can buy a retail copy of Windows XP and use it on your computer. However, if you do a clean installation, you'll have to re-install the drivers for your computer's hardware. If you don't have a drivers disk for that, you'll probably have to download drivers from the computer maker's web site. Go to Device Manager and write down the names of your computer's devices now, in case you need that information later. But you can probably re-install Windows XP without the trouble and expense of installing a retail version. Some computers come with a built-in recovery partition. By pressing a special key combination when the computer starts (typically CTRL+F11 for Dell, F11 for HP), you can use the recovery partition to restore the computer to the way it was when it was new. Or you can contact your computer maker and request a recovery disk for a nominal charge.

Call the manufacturing company and ask to give you the Recovery CD. Whatever be, it should give you the cd with Windows XP! Do not give other money to buy new XP.
