No USB charging
Hi all,My wife just got a laptop ( HP DV7 3063 )with Windows 7. When we plug in her Palm TX via USBthe device is recognized, but it does not charge like it did when connected to USB on her old machine which was XP. Thanks in advance.AA

You've tried different ports, I assume? Also, are you using a known good USB cable? If this is a problem it is most likely with the laptop and has nothing to do with Windows though.

I know with my phone I have to have specific software and drivers tomake that happen. ^ ^ ^ This.Have you installed the Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager yet? Need that for full functionality.FWIW, any phone I've ever dealt with requires drivers or softwareto be installed by myself - and, Windows does not install them automagically.Even a Windows Mobile phone will do nothing useful (not even charge - not even be recognized correctly) until one installs WMDC (for Vista/Win7) or ActiveSync (XP.)-Chris[If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. As you have probably found by now, the Palm TX doesn't have any USB drivers for Win7. I have been able to connect via wirelessly and hotsync that way. Palm recommends bluetooth but wireless networks also work just fine if you have a wireless router. Jim
