No Sound in Windows 7
I suddenly lost my sound on my Dell Experin. Everything worked properly until about 10 days ago. (The sound still works via headphones.) I've gone through all of the suggested fixes: All connections are fine, the sound device is installed (creative SB X-Fi) and functioning, I've disabled, enabled and updated the device, and I've restored my computer to a point 30 days prior. Still no sound. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, How about changing another headphones or using built-in speaker? If the device is connected via USB, you can change others ports. Please also update the audio adapter driver from Dell. Test the issue in clean boot. One more thing to check: Now, I don't know if this is what you did, but it's worth mentioning! I recently hooked my computer up to y TV via HDMI. When I did that, I had no idea my video card with HDMI would actually also process the audio and send the signal to my TV for me! But I had to switch the 'output device' to be sure it was going to the right inpt on my TV AND that my TV was configured to be 'listening' on the right audio input. Check your sound output settings in Windows 7 by clicking the Start Menu, searching for SOUND, clicking CHANGE SOUND CARD SETTINGS then ensuring the proper device is selected under the Playback tab! Good luck! NuAngelDon't forget, if you find the help you need, click the "Propose as Answer" link at the bottom of the post containing the solution! NuAngel.net
