No Screensaver or Sleep
Hey all, hoping someone could answer this, but it's as ifthe bug when vista was initially released regarding no screensaver / sleep mode is back. I'm running the x64 Betaand, well, my screensaver or sleep mode never kicks in. This is very annoying because I have to remember to manually shut off my monitor now! And, the several times I've had to do that, whatever state it was in basically had crashed my machine because it never came back. Sad :(

A clean install may need to have better ACPI (chipset) drivers installed (that your Vista has since downloaded from Update, or the OEM site)Rating posts helps other users Mark L. Ferguson MS-MVP

Hi,Make sure the HID Non-user input filter update has been installed and if you are using a Microsoft mouse, update the driver to the beta.http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/windows7/support.mspx

The beta drivers appear to have fixed it for me.Now the only question is whether or not fixing the inability to go into sleep mode will fix the side-effect of Win7 powering down my external drives and forcing me to physically disconnect/reconnect them to get them working again.

The beta drivers did the trick. Problem solved!
