I just installed a flash copy of windows 7, its very nice and powerful, but I can't find the outlook express mail... please can somebody tell me how or if i can download it from somewhere???.thanks in advance James

Outlook express finished with Windows XP and was replaced in Windows Vista by Windows Mail. This is true... I recall getting an email about it about a year or so ago. They changed the protocols behind Hotmail to make it more efficient.Seems the old protocol, DAV (Distributed Authoring and Versioning) protocol wasn't good for large inboxes. The new one, Deltasync was designed just for the task in question. So it's not just the address/contacts that can't sync - it's the email as well.

i have been using windows live mail on vista and also on xp and i actually like it. It has a junk mail filter, calender, you can do newsgroups on it and the best of all is your contacts can be synced as long as you have it on another computer. You do not have to make a hotmail account, you can use your own email account to set it up. If you use your own email account and you have this program on another computer if you change or add a contact, when you go onto the other computer and login with your email account, the contact will be updated. If you sign up for a hotmail account you will have the ability to do webmail and those contacts will update and you can send or receive messages. If you did not make a hotmail account when you sign in on livemail on the web you will only see your contacts but you cannot send nor receive emails.There is lots you can do with this program and it is totally free from microsoft. I like it much better than OE.robin

I must have missed the memo on the recind... I personally never used Outlook Express for much - except downloading hotmail folders to back them up. Since the max box size grew to 5 GB after that email was sent - I don't think I ever bothered to deal with it after that.
