It seems I can only save as the current conversation, so there's no automatic message history in office communicator. Coming from a jabber world this is pretty disappointing

So as suggestion... I would like to have automatic message history, searchable, and optionally encryptable.

setting the following registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator\IMAutoArchivingPolicy (DWORD) to 1 and restarting OC will store future IMs int he conversation folder of outlook.

Similarly there is CallLogAutoArchivingPolicy (DWORD) to store call history.

Create IMAutoArchivingPolicy (DWORD) Value=1 to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator
