No Hyper V
I have attempted to turn on hyper-V within the 8.1 OS and it is not there. How do I get it? I cannot run an emulator only local machine.

You can turn Hyper-V on in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features

Hyper-V is only available if:

Your Windows OS is 64-bit and

Your Windows OS is Professional or Enterprise.

Beyond that you also have to meet the hardware requirements.

Hi,

Yes, like Brian said, you should first meet the basic requirement:

Windows 8 Pro or Enterprise 64 bit Operating System
64 bit processor with Second Level Address Translation (SLAT)
4GB system RAM at minimum
BIOS-level Hardware Virtualization support
