No Audio in Web App
Hello,
I have a client who uses Lync. I have been invited as a guest into conferences for months, however it stopped working last week when I had to upload a new update. Now when I enter the conference, there is no audio. I do not even see audio device
options (which used to be there.)
Typically I simply click on the "Join Online Meeting" link in their invitation in order to join the meeting. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Lync Web App several times.
My speakers and microphone are working with all other programs. I'm using the speakers and audio that are internal to my computer.
I use
- Windows XP
- Firefox version 26
- Microsoft Lync Web App Plug-in version 15.8.8308.577
The only thing that has changed since it worked is the Plug-in.
Do you have any ideas for me?
Thank you for your help.

Thank you, Johan, for the answer. Is this new? I've always had audio until now.

No this has been so since the release of Lync 2013. You probably always used Windows 7 or Up because this never worked in Windows XP.

This is mysterious. I've had the same computer with the same operating system for years. I have never had Windows 7.

Well then not supported means it may work but no guarantee and an update might have broken the XP experience but in general XP is not supported

Hi,
Though it is not supported for Windows XP with Lync Web App A/V, as you succeed before, you can change to 32-bit Internet Explorer 8 or the latest version to have a try.

Thank you. I'll try Explorer and otherwise, I'll tell my client that it won't work with my system. You can mark this as closed.
I appreciate your help.
