No Access to https sites and Windows Update / 0-Bit cipher strength
I have got a strange problem with IE 9 and Windows Update (Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit SP1). I cannot open any https-site. Everytime I want to open a https-site "the page cannot be displayed". With firefox it works fine. In internet explorer it says that the cipher strength is 0-Bit. I think this is the cause of the problem. The other problem is, that I cannot run Windows Update for a while. Last time was on 23 Feb. When I search for updates now, it says error code 80072F8F. When I search the internet for this error code I find a lot of solutions saying the computer time / bios time is not correct. But it is. Date and time are ok on my computer. I already tried to reset the internet explorer, checked my system for viruses and tried everything described in KB813444. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ahead...

Ronin, 0x80072F8F means ERROR_INTERNET_SECURE_FAILURE ErrorClockWrong With the description of "One or more errors were found in the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate sent by the server." So verifiy agian if the time day month year and time zone are correct (Do not sync it just change it manualy) Can you logon to your msn messenger on your problem machine? Did you check if the problem dissapears in the internet explorer no add ons mode? You can start internet explorer in the "no addons mode" by starting iexplorer.exe with the commandline -extoff. E.G. Iexplorer.exe -extoff More info is here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/robmar/archive/2010/09/15/running-internet-explorer-9-beta-problems-without-addons-use-iexplore-exe-extoff.aspx If the problem still exists in the no add on mode you can try a clean boot. To ensure that there is no 3rd party app that is causing your problem. More info on a clean boot is here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Kind Regards DFT IM me - TWiTTer: @DFTER
