No Access to Windows 7 C Drive Nothing Not Even MMC!
I'm using the Windows 7 RC I downloaded it from Microsoft &I upgraded from Vista. Eveything was great for a about a month, suddenly I can't get into my C drive? I can see my files in my documents, and my on my D Drive but can't do anything else. I can see my files on my desktop but can't move them to another drive. I just get the message "Access Denied." I can't get in to MMC, System Restore, I'm Completely Locked out? I've also tried Safe Mode, permissions eveything I can think of!I also tried this but no go: (by the way if I take the drive out of the computer can I get my Data off?) Thanks in advance.step by step.- boot with F8, go to the domain controller restore mode. (not sure what the exact name is.)- Log in- start regedit- goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies Find EnableLUA and set it to 0 Find ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin and set it to 0.restart your pc.- Now start MMC- add the snapin Computer Management - goto storage -> diskmanagement- rightclick your windows partition and click properties- goto security- click advanced- goto owner- click edit - select the owner (in my case i used my personal account who is administrator)- click mutlipe times op ok.- close MMC- reboot pc- log in normally- start regedit- restore uac settings EnableLUA = 1 and ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin = 3.This is how I did it.Hope it works for you!
