New windows 7 computer on my sbs2002 domain
Just unpacked my new Dell Optilplex 380 with windows 7 pro-64 bit. I had no trouble getting this computer on the internet and hooking it up to my domain, I thought wow easy, for the first time. Then the trouble started, No internet connectivity. I couldn't get anywhere with bing, if I could get to google.com and search something I could not continue to a web page, just kept getting unable to display, really really slow. although my interenet connection seemed fine. I had to dowload the Virtual pc software and my tech said take it off the domain to do this, so I did, also swithed to the other network card in the cormputer, suddenly had fast internet access, until I put it back on the domain. then nothing, I restored so many times, today I had to reinstall windows 7 to start form frest again. My domain is running 7 other windows xp pro computers this is the first windows 7. The first time around I disable all the firewalls on the windows 7, did not change anything. still no interent. computer is currently working on my network (not as a domain computer, I need it on the domain so that I can access files on the server, as a network computer I cannot get it to see the server. I am waiting for help before I join the domain again. I am almost on the verge of buying windows xp pro from the internet somewhere and installing that .

Hi, Please type: ipconfig /all to view the IP address, DNS server and other network configurations. Make sure that you get a valid IP address from the DHCP server, if you get the IP address 169.254.x.x, there might be a problem on your network. Try to manually configure a static IP address and DNS server within the domain scope to see if the issue persists.
