New laptop w/windows7 with wireless connection problems at home
My wife bought a new lenovo with windows7, which screwed up our wireless connections at home big time. Our two older laptops have XP and vista, and we hadn't experienced any problem with those. Whenever the new lenovo with windows7 is on, wireless connection (through cable modem and d-link di-604 wireless router) is extremely slow in all computers that are open. Not only it is slow, but often need to click twice to open a web page or download something. When the new lenovo w/windows7 is shut off, the problem disappears, and the older laptops start enjoying excellent wireless internet connection. I don't know if it is related or not, but I also have internet phone at home, which uses the same cable connection. I appreciate any help or suggestion.

On the Windows 7 laptop, go into the wireless NIC properties and uncheck the box for IP v6, save and reboot. See what that does for you.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST

Hi, In addition, please try the following: 1. Update all the NICs’ drivers. 2. Upgrade the firmware of the NIC. Hope this helps. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT
