New file fails to sync with folder redirection
Windows 7 Pro Client on Server 2003 AD, using Folder Redirection. There is no Offline folders set up. User copied 2 files from USB memory stick to "My Documents\FolderA". He was logged into the network at the time (may have knocked the network cable off-centre temporarily disconnecting from the network - but not certain). He then went to a different machine (XP Pro SP3) and logged onto the network. The two files were not present in the "My Documents\FolderA" folder, however when he went back to the original machine, the files were still there and accessible. The Windows 7 machine was subsequently rebooted, but with no change to the status of the two files. I tried a manual synchronization which reported that the file was off-line and that the server version had been deleted. On the Windows 7 machine, I opened and the files and did a "Save-As" to the same area which allowed the new files to be available. As its the first Windows 7 client on our network are there any clues as to how to prevent this in future: If the windows7 machine is a laptop and the user logs-on away from the network, but using the network logon to do work and creates new documents, will they be synched to the network when next conencted to the network? User did this with his old XP - Pro system with no problems.
