New explorer window with network administrator rights
Hello,
I'm looking for a way to open separate explorer window with network admin rights. My company just started using Win7. Untill now using XP we used command 'runas /user:domainname\username "explorer /separate"' so we could access network resources (reserved
for admins) from user computer. Is there any way to do that in Win7?
Kind regards,
Janek

With explorer you will have no luck as explorer always opens in the
context of the user on which desktop you are. But you could use other
tools for file access e.g. the good old winfile.exe (there exists a
Win7 compliant version) or many other third party file browser
applications.

Thanks for reply.
Seems i didn't make myself clear. By run new task with network administrator rights i mean with my rights as im local IT here. Administrator on local PC doesn't have enough privileges to access some network resources and it what im aiming for.

So is your network account a Domain Admin and the PC joined to this
domain? If yes you need to logon to the shell with your network account
and everything is fine as Domain Admins are members of the local
Administrators group.
If the PC is not joined to this domain you will have to authenticate to
any domain resource individually - but only once per server.
