New Tabs open on their own in I.E. & Firefox
Hello Friends, Last time I had computer problems, you guys were the best in helping me. My wife's computer has this dreaded TABS virus(if it is a virus). She goes to Google home page from start in I.E. and then to one of her favorites from that same window & out of nowhere another tab opens to some ad. The original window gets her to her site, but the extra tab opens & goes to some ad. It happens in Firefox too. Also, when doing a search from Google, when the search page opens, whatever site you click on jumps to some ad. Now all these things that I've just stated don't happen all the time. Just sporatically. It is annoying though & I think we need to rid this as soon as possible as I think it will infect & get worse. She has Norton on her computer, but I guess it gets through it. Please help.1 person needs an answerI do too

Please help.Sound like your computer is surely infected. You can download Malwarebytes and/or Superantispyware and attempt to tackle this. It has been my experience, however, that a much deeper look is needed to locate hidden files. In order to do this I would need to see some log files. Unfortunately, MS Answers does not permit the posting of log files any longer. You are welcome to post the log file on my forum if you choose this route. Scan for malware with;http://www.malwarebytes.org/ andhttp://www.superantispyware.com/ both have free versionsMS Security Essentials is another free option, for a combined AV and malware app http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/Unless you have the latest version of Norton, older versions tend to be resource hogs
