New Security update trashes valid copy of Windows 7 ultimate.
I just installed the latest update for Windows 7. Upon reboot, I was presented with a notice that my copy of Windows 7 Ultimate was not valid(it is). Just an FYI to let MS know that this mught be a problem. I tried to activate, but I could not because the activation screen reiterates that my copy of windows was successfully activated.

I restarted windows and did not receive the notice that my copy of windows was not valid. I went to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/default.aspx?displaylang=en to have MS check it and I received a message that my copy of windows was valid. Not sure what happened. Should the original message be logged somewhere? I did not see it in the event log(doesn't mean it's not there)

Maybe the genuine tool update did not run properly when the issue occurred. After you restart it works properly.Arthur Xie - MSFT
