Never ending life of BSOD
Hi, for 3+ years I have been seeking resolve for a single frustrating prolem. I can run my computer for days and hours on end with no problems. If I run a game (a simple one too 9 year old game) and in one area of the game it WILL get bsod with multiple diffent Bug check strings. Kmode_exception_not_handled or IRQ_not_less_or_equal even System_thread_exception_not_handled once. 13 events over the last month or so. I scan over many bsod threads, I am broken down myself. I have re-installed as per dell tech support the operating system 3 times. Over the 3 years of warrantee. Well thats over now so im on my own. I got windows 7 and installed that hopeing it was a vista problem and still the problem exists. I purchased new ram, problem still exists. I do "think" all drivers are up to date as I have changed from vista32 to & 64bit so via driver re-installs from manufactures to Windows 7 64 versions. Unable to resolve the problem I am turning to this site to try and aid me in finding the root problem to this life long struggle with bsod. How do we start? I have a program Bluescreenview that will allow me to post you the data of all minidumps. I can start with a run down of hardware then post that and see if that is enough to start your thoughts of what may be at fault. Please also point me out to correct forums location if this is posted in a wrong location. Thank you. To see the cause I have to take a look at the dumps with the Debugging Tools for Windows. Please start the Windows Explorer and go to the folder C:\Windows\Minidump. Next, copy the dmp files to your desktop, zip all dmp into 1 zip file and upload the zip file to your public Skydrive [1] folder and post a link here. Good day, thank you for your interest in my problem I do appreciate it. http://cid-20a33e3c15cbfaa3.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Documents/Log%20Files/Minidump.zip ^ Skydrive zip of all the mini dumps I did read more all over this site yesterday and found a comment that the X15 slide show was not compatible with windows 7. I looked in administrative tools / Event viewer and seen lots of warnings regarding the slide show driver WUDFRd failing to load and or WUDFHost.exe was doing errors in some form of registry handles leaked etc? So, if the X15 keyboard is a problem, im glad to replace the keyboard with another normal keyboard as the functions of the gaming/macro that the X15 allows I really don’t use much, a working computer would be better. Please advise if this is warranted. For now I turn off the slide show in the X15 software. Thank you again I look forward to your analysis.

André were you able to read the .zip? I still get bsod or instant power off from time to time. Anyone have some thoughts as to how I may be able to repair this?

Hi, sorry I overlooked the topic. I'm searching my topics and look if someone replies to it. the forums software has some sorting issues and so it can happen that I overlook an issue. KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (1e) Probably caused by : hardware ( nt!KiKernelCalloutExceptionHandler+e ) This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address. Arguments: Arg1: 0000000000000000, The exception code that was not handled Arg2: 0000000000000000, The address that the exception occurred at Arg3: 0000000000000000, Parameter 0 of the exception Arg4: 0000000000000000, Parameter 1 of the exception MODULE_NAME: hardware FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: X64_IP_MISALIGNED this looks like a RAM issue. update the BIOS (yours is a bit old: BiosVersion = A06 BiosReleaseDate = 04/01/2008 SystemManufacturer = Dell Inc. SystemProductName = Dell XPS720 BaseBoardManufacturer = Dell Inc. BaseBoardProduct = 0U723D) and test your RAM with memtest86+. CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT (101) An expected clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor in an MP system within the allocated interval. This indicates that the specified processor is hung and not processing interrupts. Arguments: Arg1: 0000000000000031, Clock interrupt time out interval in nominal clock ticks. Arg2: 0000000000000000, 0. Arg3: fffff88002d63180, The PRCB address of the hung processor. Arg4: 0000000000000002, 0. Thank you for some tips on what I can try and test. I have seen some links on how to get the Mem test and the stress test programs, however if you are available to provide me links on this post then I would feel safe to obtain them. Also you say the BIOS is bit old, I tried to google for a new one, not able to find anything. Do you have a link to a new version? Thank you.
