Hi Fjcunninghamjr, Windows XP and Windows 7 should have no issues communicating with each other, provided there are no other applications interfering with communication. Below are some links to assist you with sharing files. How to configure file sharing in XP How Share on Vista (will be the same on 7) Hope this helps. I Have this working using XP Home as the XP machines with Vista machines. A special driver is required for XP the "Link Layer Topology Discovery Responder" or LLTDP driver so that the XP machines appear properly in the Vista or Win 7 workgroup listings. However file sharing works without this, if you can get a connection going, but visibility in explorer is hit and miss without it. A recent addition of a Win 7 machine worked fine in the network, however network control under Win 7 is a bit different to Vista.

I have followed all the directions to link my XP computer with my new Windows 7 computer. I can see the Windows 7 computer in my network forlder on my XP but it won't let me share. I followed all the directions in the help directory to give sharing rights to the XP computer, but still not working. Something is missing here. Any ideas?bdjim
