Networking problems on a Dell laptop, Win 7, new December 2009
My daughter PC was set up at college to use Cisco Clean access and McAfee Virus Enterprise. Now it won't work on the home network. It took them an hour to get it to work at college. PC works with the LAN connection that is hard wired ethernet. How do I set it up to use the home wireless and college wireless. She is 100 miles from college so can't use their's at home.

first problem was mcafee on maximum settings. they changed back to standard settings, then they downloaded latest drivers which helped. don't knnow why we needed since it's only 5 months old, and I'm pretty sure we had updated at least once since we had it. it did help after about 4 reboots. it has a Dell wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card. I think that's built-in. could the antenna inside pc be broke. she said it was not dropped.

Sorry....I keep forgetting things. It is the 64-bit OS with 3gb of memory. 64-bit Internet explorer 8. We have att uverse bundled service(internet, phone, cable) and it's a att router. at least that's what it says on outside. the laptop did work before we went to college for 2 days. do i have to reload the whole OS?

ok...it's fixed...ran uverse software fixer and then Microsoft, Network, Diagnose & repair... Seems the subnet range was restricted...Don't know if it got changed when set up for the college network, but a good possibility. Anyway, back to normal....
