Networking problem between XP Pro and Windows Vista
I have read through the forums and following the tips and nothing seems to be working.
I have an XP Pro Desktop trying to connect to a Vista Desktop. The Vista is connected to the XP just fine, but the XP does not have "access" to the Vista. What's the problem here!? We've even set up matching user accounts and passwords,
dropped passwords, turn firewalls off, etc. I simply can not gain access to the Vista desktop from the XP Pro desktop. Any ideas will help.
Thanks.

Hi
Make sure that the Software Firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native Firewall should be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your Network IP numbers on what is some time called the
Trusted Zone (consult your 3rd Party Firewall instructions.
General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Please Note that some 3rd party Software Firewall keep blocking aspects of Local Traffic even it they are disabled. There is a need to totally uninstall them in order to allow clean flow of local network traffic

When done, hard reboot all network computers and the Router.
