Networking issue: Homegroup and Media Streaming
#1 Homegroup issue: I work on a lot of PCs in my apartment, and I accidentally created a homegroup on my LAN with a computer that I no longer have. So now when I go into the homegroup settings on any machine in my apartment, it offers me to join this homegroup. Well, I don't have the password for it, and the only methods I've seen to reset are to remove all computers from the homegroup, it seems that I have found a loop-hole, bc the computer is not there, yet it is responsible for the homegroup. How can I hard-reset the homegroup in my apartment so that I can use computers that are actually present to manage it? #2 Media Streaming Issue: I bundle these because they might be related. I am trying to stream media from my computer to my ps3, I disable firewalls, turn on streaming and all that jazz and I cannot see the ps3 from my computer or vice versa. One interesting thing is that when I click on "Media programs on this PC and remote connections" it shows the IP address for the media streamer as 127.0.0.1 instead of 192.168.1.XX, and the MAC address is all zeros. I thought maybe my computer used my VirtualBox ethernet adapter to create some different network, but I disabled it and restarted and it's still like this. How is it on a different network? and how can I troubleshoot this? Thanks in advance for the help! P.S. I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm an electrical and computer engineer, so I've probably tried the REALLY obvious stuff
