Networking and ram problem
Hi, I’ve recently been having trouble with my wired network connection, the computer connects to my router then when I open the browser the network connection drops out. It only happens on my pc not my laptop. I’ve reinstall the network drivers, reinstalled windows (7 Ultimate 64bit), updated the bios and nothing has worked. Also since the problem occurred the pc only detects 4BG ram not the installed 6GB ddr3 1600MHz. Cpu: Intel i7 930, mainboard: Asus p6t deluxe v2, Ram: Corsair

"the computer connects to my router then when I open the browser the network connection drops out." Before you open the IE browser can you browse to anything else on your network via Windows Explorer? Have you tried a different Ethernet cable? Check and insure the RAM is all properly seated, if that does not work see if you can isolate a bad slot on the MB and in the process you will be able to find any bad RAM sticks. v/r LikeToCode....Mark the best replies as answers.

How do you know the computer connects to the router? Are you certain that this is a software issue? You could try a USB Ethernet dongle and plug it into your PC and then see if you can access the internet.v/r LikeToCode....Mark the best replies as answers.

When it does connect shows that the pc is connected to the Internet in network and sharing center but it only lasts for a few seconds also this computer is less than two months old

Hi, Since the issue persists after reinstalling Windows 7, the possible cause should be the hardware device. I would like to suggest you update the router firmware to check the result. If it does not work, please also test the issue in Safe Mode with Networking. In addition, you may also try to disable and enable the advanced features of your network card in Device Manager one by one to troubleshoot the issue.
