Networking XP Pro with Vista
I have an XP Pro machine which I am trying to network with a new vista laptop. This is currently happening fine both compurters see each other (I have put on lltd onto the xp machine) however is insisting on the use of passwords the first time I access shared folders on either computer. Normally this wouldnt be a problem, both computers can be accessed with the same password however I am now trying to run Sage from the laptop as well as the computer and the need for a password seems to be stopping sage from accessing the data on the xp machine even when the drive route I set up is opened and passworded before trying to open sage. I have moved sage out of program files and directly onto the c drive as I was told program files had slightly more complex permissions. Any help on getting rid of the passwords would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, You may consider creating the same user account with the same password on both the Windows Vista and Windows XP machines, and then logon with this user account. In this way, you should not be asked for a credential (user name & password) when accessing the share folder. After that, if the issue regarding the Sage persists, I suggest that you contact Sage manufactory to identify the cause of the issue first. They are the best resource to analyze the issue related to the Sage software. Thank you for your understanding.
