Networked Printer 'Offlline' after leaving and returning to network

Hello, all.

I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro Preview on a Surface Pro tablet.  I have a Konica BizHub 361 networked copier/printer at work, that I have connected to the tablet. After leaving work, or letting the tablet go to sleep and then coming back, the printer will be listed as 'Offline' even though I can access it through it's IP address (network functionality of printer never sleeps), or print to it from another computer, whether or not the printer is in power save mode.

In order to restore the ability to print, I need to uninstall and reinstall the printer (setting the 'Use Printer Offline' option does not affect this issue).

Any help in figuring out if there's a registry setting or otherwise to correct this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matthew

Hi,

It seems the driver cannot be loaded successfully after sleeping. Please check if there is any Windows 8 or 8.1 printer driver. If yes, delete all old driver first from Devices and Printers -> select one printer -> select Printer server properties on the toolbar -> drivers tab.

Niki,

Thanks, I'll try that and see how it works the next time I leave the networked area.

Thank you,

Matthew
