Network troubles
I'm so frustrated with my network! I've worked at it for hours and still don't have the results. Cable modem connected to a Time capsule XP connected by wire to Time capsule Win7 connected by wireless The win7 machine doesn't see the XP machine at all but the XP machine can see win7. However the XP machine can't connect to the win7 machine. I also have a mini mac which at times can see both machines but it can only connect to the xp machine. I've searched online and tried countless suggestions but none seem to get win7 to network with my other two machines. It really shouldn't be so hard to share folders across a home network.I remember being able to share folders between win7 and xp at one time but haven't been able to do so in a while. However even that had troubles. It would depend on where I was copying from and to. For some reason it appeared like the network would time out even though the copy process was active. On the mac mini the win7 machine will appear but then disappear just as quick. I've made sure all 3 computers have the same workgroup. Someone please help me! Thanks!

Then please follow the article below to setup the shared setting. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-7/share-files-and-printers-between-windows-7-and-xp/ Regarding how to share the files between Mac and Windows 7. Please enable the service for NFS in the Programs and features first. Important Note: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. If you have enabled firewall on computer (Windows firewall, antivirus firewall, ZoneAlarm, etc), temporary disable the firewall as it might block file sharing traffic if not configured properly. Also make sure you can ping Win7 PC from XP PC and vice versa, if not there is network problem on PCs. Check out this simple file sharing in Win7 article and test, see whether it works. Once it works, you might test to enable password protected file sharing. On XP PC, you might take a look on this simple file sharing article. Remember to disable simple file sharing once you have done the sharing as it grants access anyone on your network. Hope this helps.
