Network to Linux: SSH server for Windows 7
I need to connect to a Linux machine that does not have SaMBa. I'm told I can run an SSH server on my host PC, which runs Windows 7 Home Premium. Can anyone suggest an SSH server, preferably with a small footprint, that I can leave running. TIA -- Nigel M

You might look at copSSH. Its actively maintained and based on OpenSSH/OpenSSL/cygwin. http://www.itefix.no/i2/node/27 My recommendations for securing a SSH server... http://theillustratednetwork.mvps.org/Ssh/SecureYourcopSSHServer-Vista.html You can't add a SAMBA function to the LINUX box?MS-MVP Windows Desktop Experience, "When all else fails, read the instructions"

Thanks for the replies, but it seems I may have been misled, SSH may not be what I need. The title of this thread is therefore misleading, so I have started a new thread. NOTE TO ADMINS: Please close this thread. -- Nigel M
