Network problems in Windows 7
So recently I moved into a new apt, and started an account with Comcast. After setting up my PC with a wired connection, I noticed that the normal speed was about three times slower (90ms ping rather than around 20-30 like it should be.) So, I called up the ISP and they saw a slow connection once the connection hits the modem. They sent someone out, who told me it may have been the wrong firmware on the modem, so he forced the correct firmware onto the modem. The speeds were still slow, and he was pulling a 30ms ping from his smart phone. So, all the wireless connections in the house seem to be fine, it's only my PC that is acting up. I just bought the PC, it's got a 6-core processor and 8gb of RAM. He said it had something to do with my computer, so I reformatted. Much to my dismay, the problem still persists. I've even gotten the chipset drivers for my Nforce 7025-630a, still didn't change the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How about the cable to the PC? This could be crushed or kinked maybe?Lee Bowman MCITP MCTS

Thank you for the reply, however I forgot to mention in my post that I did switch out the cat5e wire with another one, still the same problem.

Can you change ports?? I would have them come out and replace the modem.

Hmm, I should have had him do that the first time, lol. But yes, have tried ports 1, 2 and 4 now, nothing works.

How does it work in Safe Mode? If the speed is fine in Safe Mode, I suggest you restart the computer to normal mode, and temporarily disable antivirus and firewall then check the result. If the issue does not occur, reinstall the antivirus and firewall and see if the issue is correct. If it does not resolve the issue, try to turn off auto-tuning.
