Network problem

I am obviously connected to the internet with this post, but my system says I am not.  Says I am not connected to any networks, yet I am connected via both wireless and wired Ethernet, either one or bridged gives me the same results.  Since it is like this I cannot do anything with win 8 apps, it won't let me into the store saying it cannot connect.  It worked fine at first, then one day it just started doing this, even system restore isn't fixing it.

Again I am on a wired home network on an Airport router that works great.  No proxy, have tried deleting the network card and find it again, have updated drivers, everything I can think of including running diagnostics.  Any ideas or am I stuck at format and reinstall???  (God I hate that thought).

Did you installed any program before this issue get started?

What will happen when you start other Apps such as Weather, Bing, etc.

Temporarily disable antivirus and see if the issue persists.

I suspect that the network adapter driver is not compatible with Windows 8. Is the driver you installed is indicated to be designed for Windows 8?

If it is not the driver issue, you can run In-place Upgrade to repair the system to resolve the issue.

Not known if something was installed as there are always several things going on in this system and I don't often try to use the new interface...  But it was working before..

Weather etc. tells me to connect to the internet to update..

Well it appears to have been a MS update that gave me new NIC drivers.  I was unable to remove it and ended up having to do an upgrade..  still installing things but its back to working..  It was working great before the update.
