Network problem, local connection only. Using tomato firmware 1.23 with linksys wrt54g.
tomato firemware 1.23 (just updated)completely fresh installHey guys,I just installed windows 7 and am having some issues.I am getting public network, local connection only. And no internet access. I ran network diagnostics and it said invalid Ip under "local area connection."At that point I went into the NFORCE adapter settings and IP4, then I changed the ip settings to ip- 192.168.1.160subnet 255.255.255.0gateway - 192.168.1.1I then ran diagnostics again and got "invalid gateway."I also tried logging into my router via internetexplorer 8 by typing "192.168.1.1". It did not work.I also tried pining 192.168.1.1 and that also did not work. I check ipconfig /all and nothing matched up.I tried disabling all firewalls as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)Bryan

HiMaybe your router address is 192.168.0.1, but not 192.168.1.1tryip- 192.168.0.160subnet 255.255.255.0gateway - 192.168.0.1 Also you need to enter DNS servers in IPv4 settings

"Maybe your router address is 192.168.0.1, but not 192.168.1.1" Why are you posting? Of course I know what my router IP address is. I mentioned it 3 times. Do you know what tomato is? There is a good guess that since I flashed my router, and pinged it, and changed the gateway, I probably have the correct router ip BEFORE I posted."Also you need to enter DNS servers in IPv4 settings"Really? Of course I did that. But i failed to list that because it has nothing to do with the problem. If i cannot log into my router, if i cannot set it as gateway, then it cannot connect to the internet to use the DNS.I've read some of your other posts, you should just stop posting. Thanks,Bryan

Well i have been running windows 7 and have encountered this problem on 2 routers i have setup running tomato 1.23 one is a Linksys WRT54GL and the other is a Buffalo WHR-HP-54G and both are showing local only access. I had the wireless working perfectly from this laptop with windows XP but as soon as i switched to Win7 i could no longer get it to work. It turns out it has to do with tomato not having IPv6 support or not having something that windows 7 is looking for. The solution ended up being to turn off IPv6 on my wireless card by going to the adapter properties and simply unchecking the box next to Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6), As soon as i did that everything was working perfectly.
