Network printer offline
I don't have your printer, but I do have an HP2015dn that has the same problem, and it is a known issue with the printer's network hardware. I always have to reset the printer to get it to come "online" to networked devices.
Be sure to search for Internet postings about your specific printer and this problem, since it sounds more like a printer issue than an issue with Windows.

I have a HP Officejet Pro8500 A909g printer that will print sometimes from my Toshiba Laptop (windows 7) and other times says it is offline. My internet is Verizon MiFi. I do not know why it goes offline and cannot figure out how to make it go back online
except to wait until I try it later to see if the problem has fixed itself. How can I stop this from happening??

Hi,
When this issue occurs, try to restart Print Spooler service to see if it can go back to online:
Click
Start - Run and type services.msc and press the OK button.
Right-click on the
Print Spooler service, and select Restart.
Furthermore, open print management\custom filters\all drivers, remove unnecessary printer drivers.
Hope that helps.
