Network printer appears offline after 24 hours
I have a brand new HP Photosmart Premium C309g connected to a desktop via USB port that currently runs Windows Vista x32. I have this printer shared on my network through the computer to the rest of the computers in my house. My desktop running Windows 7 x32 and connected to the network via Ethernet cable connected to and installed the drivers just fine. After about 24 hours of the computer being on the printer mysteriously goes offline with no way to restore it other than reinstalling the printer. The same happens to my laptop running Windows 7 x32. Any assistance, with reasonably easy to follow directions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, As far as I know, this can be caused by Windows Firewall. Please temporary disable Windows Firewall to check if the issue persists. Moreover, this can be related to driver issue. Please download the latest version of printer driver from the following site and install both on Windows 7 client computer: HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer - C309g Please note: we provide the third party link to download relevant driver for technical use only. There may be some changes without notice, Microsoft doesn’t guarantee any accuracy on contacting information. How to install printer driver ===================== 1. Install the driver on one of the Windows 7 clients. 2. Launch mmc from Start Search box. 3. Click File->Add/Remove Snap-in. 4. Add "Print Management". Point to the server in "Specify the printer server". 5. Expand "Printer Management"->"Printer Servers"->"Drivers". 6. Right-click, then click "Add a driver". 7. follow the instructions to add the Windows 7 printer driver. Best Regards Dale

NO, it's not a firwall problem, NO its not a driver problem. These printer works when you first boot up Windows 7, re: network printers. Some how, some where, Windwos 7 turn it off or could not see the printer any more. It is inconsistent at best, thus, made it hard to diagnose and fix. FIX THE PROBLEM. Do not use trial and error. User don't have time for your incompetence.
