Network not reconnecting after sleep / standby
Got a new laptop couple months ago and now it seems to lose connection to the network after being on sleep and wont reconnect, even when I type the network password in it says "failed to connect." Also once I then click connect to network and try to repair connection it freezes my laptop completely so I'm rather confused as to what this is. Any help appreciated, thanks

I wonder if its something as simple as the adapter being turned off. Check it by right-clicking Computer, click Properties > Device Manager (in the left pane). Expand Network Adapters > double-click the wireless adapter > Power Management Tab and make sure the check box is cleared against Allow the computer to turn off this device.

Hi, May I know what operation system are you using now? Windows 7 Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise? Do you mean that you can find the wireless SSID and just cannot connect to it after being on sleep? I suggest you reinstall the wireless adapter driver first. In the meantime, to reset the network settings to default. Make sure that system obtains the IP address and DNS server automatically for test. If the issue persists, you may run the powercfg h off(without quotes) command to disable hibernation with high privilege. BurrWalnut, Thanks very much! the box was ticked which was strange so it must come ticked as standard.. Really appreciate that, was getting frustrated thinking my network adapter had a problem!
