Network lost after period of inactivity
Hi, I just installed a technet copy of Windows 7 32bit. I'm having strange problems with networking. All drivers are up to date, the computer power plan is set to high performance and all options that can make the computer or any of the components "go to sleep" are shut off.. After a "period" of inactivity (I can't say how long it actually takes) the computer looses its netwok connection. I have to disable / enable the netwok connection, or restart the computer to get the connection working again. I allready unchecked the power management options on the adapter itself, but it doesn't help. The motherboard is brand new, and has allready been tested with other versions of windows, wich do work... Any ideas?

I have the same problem and so does my friend. I hit the troubleshooter and it says my gateway is not accessable and resets the adapter(s) in my computer but the other 5 windows xp machines in the house have no such problem. It happens more to me when using a torrent program or doing a slow download. Anyone know if this problem is resolved in the upcoming release?P.S. It never happened under the XP OS and the hardware is the same.

Hi, If the Windows 7 computer is connected to a router, you should search for the firmware update from the manufacturer’s website for your router first. In addition, I suggest you test the issue in Safe Mode with Networking and Clean Boot first. If the issue persists, would you please upload your System Information to SkyDrive and provide us the link for analyzing? How to collect the System Information ======================== 1. Click “Start”, type in “msinfo32” (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and then press Enter. 2. Choose “Save” from the File menu and save it as an NFO file. 3. Find the file, right-click on this file, click "Send To", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder". 4. Send the compressed file to me. Arthur Li - MSFT

Hi, I have the very same problem with a brand new Dell XPS 430 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit german (Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600). The network adapter is deactivated in standby mode. Hibernation is switched off as well as the option to deactivate the device (Intel(R) 82566DC-2).

today, I added a network card to the pc, and for now (it's now running for 8 hours) it's working fine.. Maybe somebody else can try this too... I'll post again tomorrow or so, when I've had the chance to "test" it a bit longer...
