Network location incorrect using ICS
Hi. I've got a dual-homed PC running Windows 7 Ultimate. On one NIC it connects to an ADSL modem, IP through DHCP. Second NIC connects to a Win XP SP3 Home PC & works through ICS from NIC1. The setup works, both PCs can connect ot each other & the net but while the connection to the modem is identified as Private (Home) & allows me to change it, the second connection is stuck on Public & gives no option to change. Is there a solution to this? I'm an MCITP so I've got a fair idea what I'm doing but this has me stuck. Even setting group policy to make all connections private doesn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi. I'm not quite sure what you mean by operation? Windows XP doesn't use network locations - the problem occurs on the Win 7 PC. The connection to XP PC is the one which has unchangeable location.
