Network location added in Windows Explorer now I cannot delete it
Hi, May I know if the issue only occurs on one computer? Whether did you right-click "Network" to map the drive or right-click "Computer"? Can you access the drive (website) now? As far as I know, when network discovery is enabled, the network devices or computers will display under Network in Windows Explorer automatically. You cannot add or modify them manually. Please turn off Network discovery from Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings. Meanwhile, please help me collect the screenshots of the wrong drive. How to capture a screenshot ------------------------------------------ 1. Open your Windows Explorer or if any error message is received, press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2. Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3. In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4. Save the picture onto your desktop and insert to post or upload to skydrive. It occurs only on the one computer where I 'created' this 'network location.' What makes it so odd is: if I right-click on "Network" I can map or disconnect a network drive (though network drives appear higher up under "Computer." However, if I right-click on "Computer," I am offered the additional option to "Add a network location" which then appeared lower down under "Network." Seems crazy and there is NO way to remove a 'network location.' So now I'm stuck with it. Obviously, I did not turn off Network discovery before taking the screen shot. Thanks, Jim PS: The problem has become a bit less pressing now because I have implimented a 'vanity domain name' which gives me a different 'map network drive' so the credentials conflict is gone. But the bogus network location remains. I have mapped my Sharepoint team site as a network drive and I have full access to it. PPS: turning off network discovery did not make any visible difference. What was that supposed to do? Jim Kay

I'm a new user of Office365 and I mapped a network within Windows Explorer by right-clicking on "Network." xxxx.sharepoint.com is now sitting there under "Network" and I cannot get rid of it. When I try to map the same network drive under "Computer" I get a credentials conflict. When I try to disconnect a network drive, there are none listed. (I did have a mapping that worked but I deleted that one trying to get rid of the non-working one and now I cannot get the good one back again.) So what is this "Network" thing I've created and how do I get rid of it.?Jim Kay

net use t: /delete HTH Milos Oh, I see I failed to mention that net use tells me "There are no entries in the list." net use * /d reports the same thing "There are no entries in the list." The object in question is listed under "Network" but is NOT listed under "Computer." Under "Network" is where other computers and an ethernet attached printer are listed. JimJim Kay

I keep asking myself how much effort I want to put into a problem that does nothing more than leave a seemingly harmless line under the 'network' section of Windows Explorer. It seems to me you've proposed a VERY labor intensive approach to an innocuous 'problem.' I think I'll just ignore it instead. Thanks anyway!Jim Kay
