Network keeps losing connection to shared drives. I have to reboot to make them available...
1. Are there any traces in event logs? 2. It would be helpful to exclude network active devices by cross cable 3. Have you mapped shared folders with persistent parameter? 4. Audit on server may help 5. Analysis of network communication would help (Yes I am aware that the logs woul be very large.) Regards Milos

My Windows 7 Pro system with drives is shared out to a network at my office where we have a variety of OS systems including Macs. Every day, and at random times of the day, the rest of the network loses connection with my shared drives even though my drives say they're still shared. It's not enough to un-share and re-share. I have to reboot my system at least once a day in order to make the drives available again. How can I fix this? Also, upon rebooting sometimes the system forgets that one drive in particular is suppose to be shared out. Every day when I turn my computer on I shouldn't have to check to see if I have to manually re-share the drive. __________________________________________________________ MOBO: ASUS P6X58D-E/Intel Hex Core i7 970/RAM: 16GB/Microsoft Win 7 Professional, 64bit/GeForce GTX470/System drive: Western Digital VelociRaptor, 10,000RPM

Is this computer a domain client? Does some error code or message occur? It seems that some service is not started. To temporarily disable firewall. Make sure 139 port is opened. In the meantime, please check your network.Ivan-Liu TechNet Community Support
