Network internet connection problems?
I've been trying to connect to our new Qwest router, which is in another room. On my computer, I have a D-link wireless adapter that is in the back of my computer, a NIC. I was able to connect once, but the computer froze after a few seconds. That leads me to believe that nothing is wrong with my D-link adapter, however, I'm not sure if I even have the correct software, for my brother deleted some things, thinking he was cleaning out my computer. Here are some screenies of my computer: Here is my device manager: http://i54.tinypic.com/15x1tzp.jpg This is what happens when I click "update": http://i54.tinypic.com/2z57r0h.jpg Here are my connections: http://i54.tinypic.com/10zthxt.jpg Here is the "welcome center" which has some of my info: http://i55.tinypic.com/fejjuq.jpg Here are my network connections: http://i56.tinypic.com/nplv13.jpg Here is my system: http://i53.tinypic.com/2dj5ljo.jpg I don't really even know where to begin to continue getting connection through our Qwest router, but I know I can, for it has previously connected, successfully. Much help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, What do you mean by can't connection, do you mean internet explore can't open webpage or any internet applicaiton like MSN failed to connect? Please refer to the following artical to troubleshoot: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-Internet-connection-problems http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-network-connection-problems Meanwhile, in case it is due to conflict with third party add-ons on Internet explorer, I suggest reset Internet explorer by going to Tools-> Internet Options->Under Advanced tab, click Reset...... Thank you both. Magon Lui - Yes, the internet will not connect at all. I have a feeling it has something to do with my network adapter. I installed a driver for my NIC on the company's website, and it reads that it is installed on my computer, but I cannot seem to connect, still. I now found out that it has something to do with my ethernet controller. A message pops up every time I reboot that reads: Windows needs to install device software for your ethernet controller. I'm not sure what my ethernet is, so I am still very confused. Again, I don't know if that is the problem or not as to why I cannot connect to our home router, which is not connected to MY computer, but to our "main" computer.

Please disable your antivirus software or third party firewall to check the result. In case other third party software running background caused the issue, we can also prepare clean boot to troubleshoot, please refer to Http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796.
