Network harddrive not listing all files
Hi,I have an external harddrive connected through a router via USB.In My computer, I can access the harddrive but some files are not listed. Example, in one directory I have a little over 200 folders, and I can see only 98 of them. If I write the full address of one of the folder that are not showing up, I can access that folder and the files it contains (show hidden files is on, so it's not that the file are hidden). If I use windows "Search", it will not find any of the files that are not listed in the directory. Neither would another program would see the files if a try to open it through that program. On the other hand, if I try to access the files using the ftp function of the router, ie. I write ftp://addressoftherouter in Internet explorer, I can click my way to every files without having to type the complete address.I have (up to date) windows XP (home and pro edition show the same problem)Router is Linksys WRT610NHarddrive is Seagate Freeagent 1TBThank youFB 1 person needs an answerI do too

Sounds like a configuration issue with the Seagate and it's SMB protocol. Have you checked the permissions settings in the Seagate setups? Do you have the up-to-date firmware for the Seagate? Have you tried calling Seagate support?-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook
