Network freezes when another computer access a shared folder
Currently using RC2 - x64, everything works fine except this.. As soon as I try to share files (from Vista to XP) using a network share (from anXP computer),network connection goes down, only way to get it back up and running is to reboot the pc, also, the computer get very unstable when this happens, most of the time it's even impossible to shut down Vista properly.

Hi, I had same experience with Vista RC2. I have a Windows 2003 DC which have AD and i did join Vista RC2 machine to the AD domain. After to do that, i just shared only one folder which includes some .exe files. When another computer tried to access this shared folder Vista RC2 has lost the network completely, after restart it is working correctly. RC2 behave the same for another shared folders too. I did every network tuning about this but didnt help. I didn't have same problem when i was using Vista RC1. Does anyone got and solve it? Regards, Ayhan Ergenc MCP-MCSA-MCAD-MCDBA

I'm having a similar problem. I have one computer running Vista Ultimate 64 that has all of my photos on it. When I access these shared files over the network sometimes it will lock up and I'll have to go upstairs and restart it. It has locked up when being accessed by Xp and vista computers. Othertimes it seems to work fine. do you think this is some sort of permission problem, how do I attempt to resolve it? I've heard that uninstalling and reinstall network drivers can help, but this is a pain since I had trouble finding the x64 drivers int he first place. Also, I'm not sure what Ahmed's solution means: "Check Network Sharing and Discovery in Network and Sharing Center in Control Panel. Good luck" Thanks for any help!! -JZ
