Network drops connection after second on home location
I know there are a lot off people having troubles with the Network adapter and Windows 7. I have read a lot of answers and tried almost everything but i keep having a problem that i cant figure out what it is. The problem occured after i took the PC to my home From the Office. Over there it has been connected Wireless for some months. I reinstalled some things over here on my local desk and the pc connected wired to the network and internet (still at home). When i was done i moved the pc to another location in the house (same internet, same router ) and there it connected fine. Then the problem occured, when connecting to the network or internet it dropped the connection in a few seconds. First the ipv6 says there is no network access and then the ipv 4 does the same. When i take a look in the network details its says its connected to ipv at adres 192.168.0.107 and has a ipv 6 connection. Both DHCP and DNS gives back 192.168.0.1 and thats similiar to al other pc's in my network. When i plug in the "old"wireless connector it connects just fine an instantly i have internet and network. i tried everything to find the problem but still cant figure it out. This week i took the pc with me to an other location, plugged in the cable and it connected without a problem. I really dont understand why it keeps dropping the connection in seconds at home and not at a different location. i tried a lot like manual configuring the ip, renew the lease , updating drivers .. removing the homegroup.. checking for the bonjour service.... nothing works. The system is a Dualcore intel machine with Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64 bits. Maybe one of you experts now what to do or can give me hints were to look for..

Have you tried rebooting your router? I only mention this because I've seen the connect then immediately drop thing occur from an iPhone using wifi and a router reboot cures it. -Noel

Hi, Since the PC can work fine in other location without any difference, we can consider the network settings on the PC is fine. To troubleshoot the issue, I suggest you try the following steps. 1. Upgrade the router’s firmware. 2. Temporarily turn off firewall on the machine. Thanks, Novak

Hjalmar and all, t here is something fishy with W7 x64 and the network card. Don't waste time on the router, hardware or similar, it's 99% something with Windows and it's very strange that Microsoft has done nothing about it.
