Hello everyone,

I am using Windows 8.1 which is upgraded from Windows 8. After upgraded, the mapped network drives will suddenly disappear, sometimes they will appear in several minutes, sometimes won't and I need to logout the Windows and login again. When the network drives disappear, the application can't access those network drives, but I confirm the network is no problem and I can browse the web pages smoothly.

Those network drives is created by group policy.

I have googled for this problem but found nothing.

Sorry for my dilatory reply. Did you install any security application? If so, please try to disable them for test.

You also can check Event Viewer if it identify the problem.

In addition, In my opionion, we can try to use Network Monitor to analyize this problem. May be it is more helpful.

We are also experiencing the same problem on two different laptops (one Dell M4400 and one Lenovo Y510p).

No other uses affected as most use Windows 7 Professional.

Both only experienced issues since upgrading from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1. Never experienced on Windows 8.0.

Mapped drives disappear and reappear. No event log events occur as they disappear. When they have completed reappearing, which happens over a period of a minute or two, an event log shows a Group Policy update was applied.

Drives disappear around twice per day.

We have updated all our domain controllers to the latest security patches in the hope a fix would be available if this was a known issue, however we are still having the same problem.

Has there been any advancements on this case ? I am seeing this issue over 5 machines in my organisation and it is rather frustrating.
